Seeking and then landing on a Excellent rating from Angie’s List started my relationship with Expert Furniture Repair, which has been making my cherished memories…furniture, each with its own story…restored to its original condition…once again, as it was years before…NEW AGAIN!

Our relationship started in 2010 when you put peeling, water damaged veneer back in place on a priceless musical instrument, and as you claimed– if I could see the damage after the repair… I didn’t have to pay for it…I had to pay— since after the repair it looked as if no damage had ever occurred …and most importantly has remained that way.

Then with perfection, your EXPERT, upon my insistence–since you told me after examination, an antique 45 record player from the 1950s whose corner had been cracked, in transit..ripping the material covering… was restored, reinforced against future damage and the texture and color of the material was made to miraculously appear as if the damage had never happened. Coming from an Ebay seller in Canada, who split the repair cost with me, needless to say she was blown away by the before and after the repair photos. The repair was, as my other repair—- undetectable.

The list of successful and miraculous repairs since 2010 includes my 1960s diningroom set…table, china cabinet and buffet table–(emphasized) PERFECTION! I only wish I had saved the original chairs.

Then my Mother past on and my Grandmother’s desk, a 1940s gift from my Father became mine. It, and the chair was destroyed, with my Grandmother’s needlepoint cushion needing to be reinstalled with new cushioning. It too was restored to NEW, just like my Grandmother kept them while she was alive.

My electronic organ(s) collection has been restored to showroom condition–NOW 40+ years later.

These items were headed for the garbage…BUT were given a new life:
–a priceless Wall hung shelving from the 1960s was saved when the brackets were glued and REINFORCED.
—My Barrister Book Case, which is irreplaceable, had its badly water damaged bottom cut off and a new bottom constructed and stained to match the rest of the bookcase.
—a built in corner cabinet from my church received a new top, side and bottom molding making into a stand alone bookcase, AND it was stained to perfectly match one of my organs.

…I thought that I was safe from floods from below, given that every piece in my basement is now on wheeled platforms,…..but when the bathtub pipe burst…all the water FROM ABOVE ended up in the kitchen and the basement. The kitchen cabinets, being the original 1960s wooden cabinets were either destroyed or water damaged. All of the cabinet doors, drawers, the totally destroyed side of the top cabinets, and the front decorative piece in front of the sink (which never matched and wasn’t decorative)were restored and now are stained the same color. This EXCELLENT restoration has made my kitchen a cherished 1960s piece that will continue to exist…….

…I was really pushing my luck when an antique magazine (I think hand crafted by my Great Grandfather) was presented via text for estimate. the verdict was that it was beyond repair ….but alas, it too was able to be restored, like I remember it since I was a child…PERFECT!

…My music cabinet (a childhood auction acquisition) with a mirror was restored perfectly.

I probably missed a few items…these last 8 years have brought back to life pieces that are no longer available today. I am so pleased with the ‘magic’ miracle that has blessed my home–keeping my cherished memories alive and usable again.

I do advice everyone to take a look at their possessions, then call Mr. Katz at Expert Furniture Repair and bring back to life your cherished pieces. They aren’t garbage in the hands of an EXPERT—- they become new again

The above is a long 8 year historical account is just the tip of the iceberg.

Thank You Mr. Katz for bringing me such joy.

Sincerely,

Robert C. Rownd Jr.
